The Psychology Department at Albright College is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment for one year, starting Fall 2019, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The preferred area of specialization for the candidate is open. A Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred, but ABD candidates will also be considered.
A successful candidate should be prepared to teach introduction to psychology, and a laboratory in statistics and research methods that includes the supervision of student research projects, with the possibility of teaching an integrated statistics and research methods course in the second year if the position is renewed. A successful candidate should be able to teach one, preferably two of the following: Personality, Adult Psychopathology, Child Psychopathology, Human Development, and Positive Psychology. There may also be an opportunity to teach an upper level course in the candidate's area of expertise. A successful candidate should have teaching experience and some experience mentoring undergraduate research. We also expect a degree of familiarity with classroom and laboratory technology. Research support and professional development opportunities are available.
Albright College is a liberal arts institution that emphasizes interdisciplinary studies and teaching excellence, and faculty have a three-three teaching load. Albright’s enrollment is approximately 2,000 students and is located within an hour of Philadelphia, and three hours from New York, Baltimore and Washington DC.
