Visiting Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology

WILLIAMS COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY invites applications for a one- to two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology, beginning July 1, 2019. Applications are welcome in all areas of specialization within clinical psychology. The teaching load is four courses each year, which would likely include a survey course on Psychological Disorders, the Clinical Psychology section of a team-taught Introductory Psychology course, and an upper-level research seminar in the candidate’s area of interest with an accompanying lab (if needed, a section in our interdisciplinary senior seminar may be taught in lieu of one of those courses). The college and department provide numerous mentoring opportunities and support in teaching and research for visiting faculty. We are particularly interested in attracting and welcoming candidates from under-represented groups, and hiring candidates who can work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. Information about the Psychology Department can be found at: https://psychology.williams.edu/

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. In the letter of application, please speak to your ability to work effectively with a student population that is broadly diverse with regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background check. Further information is available at http://dean-faculty.williams.edu/prospective-faculty/background-check-policy/.

Application Instructions

Please submit your cover letter, vita, two to three letters of reference, reprints, research statement, and evaluations of teaching experience (including any teaching ratings that are available) online at https://apply.interfolio.com/53677. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2018. Fax, email or mail applications cannot be accepted. Contact the department administrative assistant at cjr1@williams.edu with questions.
