Postdoctoral Fellowship in Maternal-Infant Mental Health

                                                     

The Department of Psychiatry in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is offering a postdoctoral fellowship specializing in maternal-infant mental health.  This program focuses on: 1) Perinatal Mental Health; 2) Infant and Early Childhood Mental health assessment and treatment; 3) Parent-Child Relationship assessment and psychotherapy; 4) Development, Dissemination and community-based implementation of a short-form version of the Parent-Child Early Relational Assessment (ERA-SF) in home visiting programs. The candidate should be a graduate of a Ph.D. program in Psychology. Familiarity or interest in community based participatory research and/or dissemination/implementation research and knowledge of SPSS, along with clinical experience in infant mental health, child development and/or working with women experiencing depression, are desirable. Opportunities to expand clinical assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills with infants and young children of women with a history of trauma, relational disruption and mental health issues in the postpartum and early parenting period, as well as to provide Infant/ Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation to home visitors and childcare centers.  Coordination of Early Relational Screening, Assessment and Supportive Interventions in Home Visiting Clinical Research Study. Weekly individual and group supervision provided. Additional opportunities include access to seminars with national speakers through the UW Capstone Certificate Program in Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health infantmentalhealth.psychiatry.wisc.edu and the Wisconsin Trauma Informed Child-Parent Psychotherapy (TI-CPP) Learning Community and collaboration on professional articles, presentations and grants.

 NIMH-determined pay scale and benefits.  Appointment to begin September 2018 or later.
