The Department of Natural and Applied Sciences at Bentley University is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Psychology with a Fall 2020 start date.
We seek applicants who are both excellent teachers and outstanding researchers. Preference will be given to those candidates who have expertise in the cognitive psychology of risk and decision-making. We are eager to attract a talented academic, employing cutting-edge methods in research that substantially advance both theory and practice in human judgment. For example, we would be especially interested in a researcher harnessing behavioral science data to enhance our understanding of fundamental cognitive and neurological processes such as comprehension, reasoning, and effective problem solving.
The Natural and Applied Sciences department has two overlapping domains in health and sustainability. We looking for candidates who can contribute to one or both of these domains. An example of this could be a researcher who studies how individuals assess health or environmental risks through both analytical and emotional appraisals.
Rich opportunities exist for collaboration within our department and across campus, and candidates with a track-record of multidisciplinary research and teaching is preferable. We value partnerships across traditional academic boundaries and welcome a teacher-scholar who is excited about interdisciplinary collaborations. A candidate with experience creating partnerships across academia, policy, and commercial practice would be valued.

Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in Psychology or a doctorate in a closely related field.
