Road Home Program – Trauma Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship

Save job

Rush University Medical Center’s (RUMC) Department of Psychiatry in downtown Chicago is recruiting three Post-Doctoral Fellows for the Road Home Program: The Center for Veterans and Their Families (RHP). RHP’s mission is to compassionately serve veterans and their families. It provides individualized care on an outpatient basis to veterans and their loved ones to help heal the invisible wounds of war. Additionally, RHP is part of the Warrior Care Network as a Midwest regional center for the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder through a three-week Intensive Outpatient Program. Fellows will be an integral part of our clinical program and will have ample opportunity to treat veterans, as well as adult family members and children (depending on the candidate’s interests and background). Fellows will also be encouraged to participate in ongoing clinical research at RHP. This is an exciting opportunity to conduct research on traumatic stress and to gain valuable clinical experience with a multidisciplinary team at a major medical center. The ideal candidate will have experience with trauma-informed care and/or patients with serious psychiatric illness, have a strong research background and some publications, be knowledgeable in advanced statistics, and be interested in establishing a scientist-practitioner career. Qualified candidates must have an APA approved doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. The deadline for applications is Monday, January 7, 2019.

Rush University Medical Center is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Rush is ranked in 7 of 16 categories in U.S. News & World Report's 2018-2019 "America's Best Hospitals" issue, and is one of the two top-ranked hospitals in Illinois overall. Rush was one of four hospitals in the country that the American Hospital Association honored for equity of care in June of 2018. Rush was the first hospital in Illinois serving adults and children to receive Magnet status – the highest honor in nursing – and the first in Illinois to earn a fourth four-year designation. Rush has been ranked among the country's top 100 hospitals — and 15 major teaching hospitals — four times by Truven Health Analytics, a leading provider of health care data and analytics. Rush is located short distances from transportation centers, sports facilities, and residential/shopping neighborhoods.
