RESEARCH TRAINING FELLOWSHIPS IN CLINICAL PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGY

Stanford University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences anticipates openings for a NIMH-funded postdoctoral fellowship for the 2020-21 academic year. This fellowship is designed for those who plan to pursue careers in clinical research with a specialization in adult disorders including mood, anxiety, eating disorders, insomnia, or related areas. These are two-year positions with a third year contingent upon funding. Candidates should have a clearly identified area of interest and demonstrated capability in scholarly research. Research activities include involvement in ongoing research projects and, ideally, development of independent projects with the mentor’s guidance. Stipends for NIMH training fellowships are approximately $62,700 plus benefits, depending on previous training. These positions are open to MDs and PhDs. Candidates must identify potential mentors in the application and ideally include a letter from the mentoring faculty (see faculty list at http://med.stanford.edu/psychiatry/about_us/Faculty.html).

REQUIREMENTS: MD applicants must have completed an approved psychiatry residency program or have training in behavioral neurology or behavioral pediatrics. PhD applicants must have completed: 1) an APA- or CPA-accredited graduate program; 2) an APA- or CPA-accredited internship; and 3) all requirements for their PhD prior to beginning their appointment. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Minorities and those with disabilities or disadvantaged backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application deadline is 1/6/2020. For detailed application information, please go to http://med.stanford.edu/psychiatry/education/T32-research-fellowships.html.
