The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) has extraordinary opportunities for psychologists seeking to join our diverse, dynamic and thriving department. We are located in the prestigious and vibrant Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world, and abounding with collaborative and translational opportunities in the health sciences.


We seek an established Neuroscience scholar with a distinguished research program to join our interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals with the UTHealth Trauma and Resilience Center. This full-time position focuses on scientific research on the effects of trauma, disasters, and stress on individuals, families and communities. The successful candidate will direct independent research as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on trauma, to complement the Department’s research initiatives and to participate in related collaborative research programs. 


Qualifications:

  • PhD in Psychology
  • Extensive record of scholarly productivity and extramural funding

Depending on qualifications and credentials, faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor will be offered.  The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to the Department’s mission of education, research and patient care, and to participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of psychology predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, practicum students, and psychiatry residents.
