Psychology Postdoctoral Resident

Description: Kaiser Permanente Northern California Postdoctoral Residency Programs in Clinical Psychology offer over 70 one-year residency positions in seven training consortiums encompassing 18 training sites across Northern California. Six of our seven consortiums are APA-accredited. See our website for training locations. Residency positions are designed to provide 2000 hours of supervised clinical postdoctoral training. Positions are 40 hours per week, temporary with benefits. Completion of this program will satisfy one of the requirements to sit for most state Board of Psychology licensing exams. Residents are based in departments of Psychiatry, Chemical Dependency, Chronic Pain, Behavioral Health or Behavioral Medicine, and are provided with two hours per week in each of the following activities: individual supervision; group supervision; and didactic training. Residents must have completed a doctoral degree PhD, PsyD or EdD, before starting the program.  See our website for more information on degree types.

Responsibilities and Requirements:Provide assessment and psychotherapy of adults, adolescents, children and/or families in a brief therapy model. Conduct intake evaluations. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Co-facilitate psycho-educational groups. Conduct program evaluation and/or research project. Administer and interpret psychological tests and write reports. Participate in: regional, consortium, and departmental training activities; departmental administrative and educational meetings; and community partnership activities. Maintain confidential patient files/records and information in a timely manner. Comply with regional and local policies and procedures. Comply with APA's Code of Ethics and state laws pertaining to the delivery of mental health services. Other duties as assigned, including team-specific duties.  All residents are under the ect supervision of licensed psychologists.
