The Psychology Department at The New School for Social Research and Eugene Lang College is searching, at an open rank, for a tenured or tenure-track full-time faculty member to join the department in Fall 2019.

We welcome applications from faculty with the PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology and with a psychodynamic emphasis in their training. Our department is engaged in an effort to recruit applications from diverse groups, especially from individuals who belong to under-represented groups in higher education.

The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service display a commitment to working effectively with underserved communities and students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. The New School is committed to actively recruiting from a diverse pool of applicants. We encourage candidates from groups underrepresented in US higher education to apply.

Our teaching load is the equivalent of five courses per year, which consists of four classroom courses with the usual non-teaching duties; the fifth course is comprised of dissertation supervision. We seek candidates with excellence in research with a strong commitment to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level while supervising PhD dissertations and MA theses.
