The Department of Psychology is excited to search for a full-time, tenure track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 26, 2019. The successful individual will have an area of concentration in Educational Psychology with a preference given for scholars who can also teach undergraduate research methods.
Doctorate or ABD in Educational or Child Psychology from a regionally accredited higher education institution is required. ABD applicants must provide evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed by the performance review (March, 2019). Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching is required; experience teaching Educational Psychology, Research Methods, advanced statistics and/or Introduction to Psychology will be considered an asset. Ability to bring diverse cultural and ethnic perspectives to the department and the campus, and/or a commitment to serving as a mentor for traditionally underrepresented students will be considered assets.
Teach 12 credits each semester of courses as assigned in the Psychology Department, including Educational Psychology and Research Methods. Participate in research and scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department/program, college, and university committee work.
Nineteen full time faculty members and one post-doctoral scholar in the Psychology Department represent a broad range of specialty areas including a highly successful graduate program in School Psychology. We serve more than 550 undergraduate psychology students, 250 declared minors and over 30 graduate students.
