Stress Management Team, Montgomery County Government, Maryland
The Office of Human Resources, Stress Management Team is recruiting for a Psychologist position to support the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). Montgomery County Government is a large suburban county outside of Washington D.C. with approximately 1 million residents. The Stress Management Team promotes the emotional, mental, and physical well-being of Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) employees, both sworn and civilian, and their immediate family members. The MCPD has approximately 2000 employees.
The psychologist provides an array of mental health services. The incumbent will be supervised by and work closely with the Psychologist supervisor to perform the duties listed below, and together they provide oversight and supervision to the MCPD Peer Support Team.
The Psychologist will interface with the police department personnel at all levels, county agency personnel, civilian and police union representatives, state and local agencies as well as local and national providers of mental health services.
This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative style of working with others, and a strong ability to maintain boundaries.
