Summary of Position:
The Counseling and Wellness Center at Trinity College has an opening for a full-time Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.), 40 hours/week, 10 months/year). Reporting to the Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center, this position involves direct 1:1 psychotherapy with college undergraduates in a very busy center seeing over 40% of the student body each year, supervision of pre-doctoral trainees and post-doctoral psychology fellows, outreach activities, and active participation in case conferences and staff peer-supervision among a staff of seven clinical staff. While the Counseling and Wellness Center provides professional psychotherapeutic intervention from a variety of theoretical orientations depending on the needs of the client, we supervise from a psychodynamic perspective, and candidates should be comfortable and professionally conversant with that orientation.
A Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology, and at least one year of post-degree experience in a college or university counseling center, a Connecticut psychologist license, and multicultural counseling competence, experience and/or training are required. Outreach and group experience are also highly desirable.
