The UAB Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position for a Ph.D. clinical psychologist in the Division of Behavioral Neurobiology. The position is classified as a Clinician- Researcher, tenure earning faculty appointment within the School of Medicine. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as a clinical psychologist in Alabama. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications. The ideal candidate will have early career funding and strengths in the areas of schizophrenia, mood disorders, or addiction. As a clinician, there will be expectations of modest clinical care inversely proportional to funding level, with substantial protected time of up to three years to obtain full research funding. The University of Alabama at Birmingham offers excellent resources and benefits including several centers such as the Neuroscience Center, Center for AIDS Research, Minority Health and Health Disparities Center, UAB Addiction Recovery Program, Nutritional & Obesity Research Center, and Beacon Addiction Treatment Center. The researcher will have access to state-of-the-art neuroimaging equipment, including a newly- installed GE PET/MR scanner, TR-24 cyclotron, and Siemens Prisma 3 Tesla MR scanner. A research- dedicated 7 Tesla Siemens MAGNETOM is also available via the Alabama Advanced Imaging Consortium.
