Psychologist - Center for Addictions

CoxHealth is seeking a Licensed Psychologist who assumes responsibility for a patient or group of patients for a designated time frame, and provides care for these patients through therapeutic use of self, the patient care/problem solving process, through the environment/instruction, and through other healthcare team members. This position will work primarily within the Center for Addictions providing care for adults in an outpatient setting who have been diagnosed with substance use disorders. Responsibilities will include the administration and interpretation of personality inventories, individual and group therapy, group education and occasional family therapy.

This position will allow for a five day work week and a flexible schedule with minimal evening hours and limited call coverage for inpatient units.

This position is an excellent opportunity to work with a well established team of addictions professionals including physicians, nurses, counselors, and social workers.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Required- Doctorate in Psychology

Experience:

  • Required- 3-5 years related experience- experience can include practicum, internship, post-doctoral, and/or independent practice.
  • Preferred- Medical Experience

Skills:

  • Able to conduct assessment and treatment of patients in areas of assigned operations
  • Able to integrate work activities into multidisciplinary team environment
  • Must be self-directed as will work alone at times
  • Carry out essential functions of the job with potential expansion of responsibility
  • Familiar with age specific needs for patient populations served
  • Clinical capability to provide full range of behavioral health services to medical and to psychiatric patient populations

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Required: MO State Psychologist License or eligible for Psychologist Licensure in the State of MO and Provisional MO License or Licensed Professional Counselor must be obtained within 90 days
