The Faculty of Education of The Chinese University of Hong Kong ( is an international center for professional training and research in Education. The Faculty is ranked 18th internationally in the 2019 Times Higher Education subject ranking in Education.

The Department of Educational Psychology under the Faculty of Education is seeking to fill a faculty position in Professional Educational/ School Psychology for a postgraduate programme in Professional Educational/ School Psychology newly introduced in the 2019-20 academic year. The appointee should have the required credentials or professional experience for practice as educational/ school psychologist and he/ she will be a member of the Department's distinguished academic team responsible for course development and instruction as well as research scholarship.

For appointment at Assistant Professor rank, applicants should have (i) a doctorate degree in Professional Educational/School Psychology; (ii) solid experience in teaching, research, professional practice supervision and service; (iii) a track record of programmatic research and publications as well as potential for research grant writing; and (iv) a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.

For appointment at Professor / Associate Professor rank, in addition to (i) to (iv) above, applicants should have (v) achieved a strong record of publication and success in obtaining external research grants; (vi) demonstrated academic and professional leadership internationally; and (vii) a commitment to provide academic and research leadership in the Department.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2020, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. For appointment at Professor rank, candidates with an exceptional record of research and scholarship and a remarkable academic standing internationally may be considered for substantive appointment.
