The University of Regina’s Women’s Mental Health Research Unit is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Gordon. Dr. Gordon is a holder of a Tier II Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Canada Research Chair in Women’s Mental Health. The successful candidate will help coordinate (20% time) a large project, funded by the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, aimed at developing a patient-informed, evidence-based psychological intervention for women struggling with infertility. This role will involve aiding in the preparation of a treatment manual based on empirical evidence and feedback collected from stakeholder groups. The fellow would also be involved in several ongoing projects investigating the mood and cognitive effects of reproductive hormones, and the efficacy of behavioral interventions (e.g. mindfulness-based stress reduction) for reproductive mood disorders. The fellow would be given opportunities to produce several first-author and co-author publications using existing data, present at national and international conferences, and collaborate on grant applications. If desired, the fellow would also be supported in developing their own project in the general area of women’s mental health.
- Requirements include a PhD in Clinical or Health Psychology, Nursing, Psychiatry, Social Work or related clinical discipline, record of research productivity (e.g., publications, reports, conference presentations), and excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Experience in qualitative research methods is an asset.
- The expected start date is July 1st but is flexible. The position is full-time for one year, with the possibility of a one-year renewal. Annual stipend is $50,000 CAD per annum, with an additional one-time research stipend of $5,000.
