The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences at Children’s Mercy Kansas City is recruiting a psychologist with expertise in pediatric psychology to work with youth with endocrine disorders, including Type 2 Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes, Turner syndrome, 22q Deletion syndrome and Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Youth. The primary focus of the position will be clinical service delivery, both within the Developmental and Behavioral Sciences Clinic and in multidisciplinary Endocrinology Clinics. In addition to these primary clinical responsibilities, there will be opportunities for program development, research, community educational presentations, and teaching/supervision in the hospital’s APA-accredited psychology internship, psychology and developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowships, pediatric residency program, and psychology practicums. The position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have completed a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or counseling psychology, completed an APA-approved internship with an emphasis on children and teens, and be license-eligible as a psychologist in Missouri and Kansas. Candidates should have specialized training/experience in pediatric psychology settings. The successful candidate will have strengths in assessment and empirically supported interventions.
