Marist College Office of Counseling Services is seeking applications for a temporary part-time Clinical Counselor position to support an active and thriving office during the 2019 spring academic semester. Counseling Services is dedicated to enhancing student well-being and mental health through trauma- and culturally-informed care while supporting the college community.
Clinical Counselor will deliver direct clinical services to individuals and groups, including psychotherapy, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and consultation. This position requires collaborative working relationships with Counseling Services staff and at times various campus constituents as well as capacity to work independently while committed to highest ethical and professional ideals and standards.
This temporary position requires flexibility and ability to work some evening hours.
Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program and licensed in New York State; or Masters degree in Social Work from regionally accredited college or university and valid LCSW in New York State.
A minimum of three years of clinical experience is required.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience working with college-age and graduate student populations
- Generalist skills with specialized skills for working with certain populations, presenting concerns, or evidenced-based practices
- Responsiveness to high demand for services and management of clinical caseload
- Familiarity with electronic medical records such as Titanium
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
