The Clinical Psychologist will fulfill a key professional role in the Behavioral Health Department. Responsibilities are varied along the clinical spectrum ranging from Psychological testing, diagnosis and treatment and assessment and evaluation for specific issues, such as addictions, pain management, sleep disturbance, and smoking cessation.


INTERIM / TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW

  • 3+ Month Assignment
  • Provides clinical psychology consultations to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, and consultations. Assumes additional departmental and hospital responsibilities as assigned
  • Responsible for providing psychoeducation for patients and families
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues related to patient care and manages situations in a reduced risk manner
  • Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the age-specific population served as evidenced by training, competency assessment, and testing
  • Navigates with all departmental personnel at all levels to achieve departmental objectives
  • Provides authenticated reports of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner
  • Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area
  • Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner

EXPERIENCE | LICENSURE | CERTIFICATION | EDUCATION

  • Doctorate degree in Psychology, relevant counseling and diagnosis experience (i.e. Ph.D, Psy.D)
  • Current valid license, license eligible or Board Certified to practice Psychology in Georgia
  • Minimum of two years of experience in oncology or similar patient setting or a related health field
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patient served
  • Excellent clinical, administrative & presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member
