The Department of Mental Health Law and Policy (MHLP), Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute (FMHI), College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS), University of South Florida (USF) invites applications from qualified candidates to fill a 9-month faculty position at the rank of Instructor I. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank. This position will involve development and teaching of undergraduate/graduate courses and involvement in other administrative tasks related to teaching as assigned by the Academic Director or Chair of MHLP. The successful candidate is expected to have a clinical teaching or training background in behavioral health relating to one or more of the following areas:
- Mental health and substance use services and policy
- Implementation science and behavioral health
- Veterans’ behavioral health
- Trauma-informed care
- Behavioral health issues within the adult and/or juvenile justice systems
- Forensic mental health services
- Underrepresented populations and disparities in behavioral health services

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold, at a minimum, a Master’s degree in a behavioral health related field and a demonstrated record of clinical teaching or training in areas consistent with the mission of MHLP. Applicants must be able to demonstrate, as a part of their application, a record of two or more years of experience teaching and/or training at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DrPH), have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a record of collaborative work with both academic and community partners, and two or more years of experience teaching and/or training at the undergraduate or graduate level.
