The Wright Institute Doctor of Psychology Program invites applications for a full-time (10 month) tenure track faculty position. This position will begin with the 2019-2020 academic year.
Qualifications being sought for this position include extensive academic knowledge and familiarity with socio-cultural issues related to the experience of Latinx populations and communities. In addition, the candidate must have experience in clinically serving Latinx populations and the knowledge and ability to assist students clinically serving Latinx populations. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess expertise to teach four or more of the following subjects: Psychopathology, psychodynamic intervention, group intervention, socio-cultural issues, models of brief intervention, clinical supervision and consultation, therapeutic factors and efficacy, child intervention, motivational interviewing, integrated health care (or other health psychology related topics), case conference and/or advanced clinical seminars, and the ability to direct and instruct graduate level qualitative research.
Applicants must be license eligible or licensed as a psychologist and hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program. Candidates are preferred who also attended an APA accredited internship program.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to engage students through excellence in teaching and research skills (through dissertation chairing, publications and/or presentations), as well as have a commitment to multiculturalism and to diverse student and faculty bodies. Full-time faculty typically teach 8 trimester courses per year (Courses are taught weekly for 3 hours per class for 10-13 weeks.) Other activities include but are not limited to chairing dissertation research, governance service, admissions activities, mentorship of students, and scholarship.
The salary range for these positions is competitive and will be determined by experience.
