Full-Time Lecturer-UPDATED!!

The Department of Psychology at Georgia State University invites applications for three openings for the position of full-time lecturer to begin January 2019. GSU is an innovative university located in downtown Atlanta and enjoys a diverse student body, including approximately 50,000 students from more than 170 countries. As one of the largest majors in the College of Arts & Sciences, the Department of Psychology anticipates recruiting broadly trained faculty members who can contribute effectively to undergraduate teaching and service and provide leadership for curriculum development in our undergraduate program. We have particular teaching needs around multicultural, biological psychology, and methods and statistics courses. Our department is committed to developing a culturally diverse faculty who reflect the diversity of our student body, so members of minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.  Lecturers in Psychology are non-tenure-track faculty. In the sixth year of service, Lecturers become eligible for promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer. After five years of service, Senior Lecturers are eligible for promotion to the rank of Principal Senior Lecturer. Please see http://psychology.gsu.edu for more information about the Department of Psychology at GSU.

A Ph.D. in psychology or a related field is required, and evidence of effective teaching and promotion of undergraduate scholarship are recommended. Applicants should submit a letter of application that discusses their professional accomplishments and future goals as well as their philosophy of teaching a diverse student body. Curriculum vitae and evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g. evaluations of instructor, learning outcomes data, pedagogical publications) should accompany this letter. Application materials can be submitted via email to psysearch@gsu.edu.

Review of applications will begin September 17, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled. An offer of employment will be conditional upon background verification. Georgia State University is a research university in the University System of Georgia and is an EEO/AA employer.
