Forensic Psychologist II

Salary Range: $3703.20 to $4887.20 Bi-weekly 



Responsibilities

The Forensic Psychologist is part of a multi-disciplinary team providing JBCT services to inmates. The JBCT program is administered on-site at the Rio Consumnes Correctional Center in Elk Grove.


Qualifications

REQUIRED 

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology AND California State License by the Board of Psychology
  • Knowledge of clinical interviewing techniques and understanding of Psychological assessment. Ability to quickly develop proficiency in the use of competency to stand trial assessment tools
  • Thorough knowledge of DSM-5 and diagnostic criteria
  • Ability to provide consultation, interpret clinical findings an diagnosis and make recommendations regarding treatment, care, and disposition
  • Knowledge and skills in the areas of individual, group, and family therapy
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and planning skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Demonstrated awareness of, and sensitivity to, dealings with cultural and socioeconomic diversity
  • Knowledge of child, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating psychology practice, e.g., Tarasoff, patient confidentiality, etc.  Ability to make appropriate interventions based on law and policy
  • Able to work effectively within a stressful, hazardous environment with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain Sacramento County Sheriff Department's Security Clearance 

 


PREFERRED 

  • Psychologist experience in a jail, hospital or correctional setting highly preferred
  • Knowledge of criminal justice system, state hospital system, forensic mental health, Probation, Parole, and Department of Corrections
