NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY (NSU) - The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience (https://psychology.nova.edu/departments/pn/index.html) invites qualified applicants for two full-time faculty positions – one in social psychology and the other in clinical forensic psychology. Applicants for each position will be reviewed for rank commensurate with experience and scholarship.
The successful candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship within his/her area of expertise. Additionally candidates should be actively engaged in scholarship with expectations to maintain an ongoing program of research publish and supervise student research. Potential to seek external funding to support research is desirable.
For the social psychology position (#994885) research experience in the field of social psychology is required. Individuals with expertise in stereotyping and prejudice are particularly encouraged to apply. In addition to conducting their own program of research faculty are expected to supervise students' research (undergraduate research assistantships master's theses in experimental psychology) and to teachpsychology courses at both the undergraduate and master's levels. Probable courses include Social Psychology; Stereotypes Prejudice and Discrimination; and electives related to the faculty member's own area of expertise.
The clinical forensic psychology opening (#992737) is for an administrative faculty position. In addition to teaching courses and remaining active in one's research area the faculty member will serve as the director of our online master's degree program in forensic psychology. The faculty member will oversee all aspects of the master's program including curriculum management program assessment and evaluation and adjunct faculty supervision. A candidate is sought with expertise in forensic psychology and administrative experience in an academic setting. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of Florida.
