The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) has extraordinary opportunities for mental health professionals seeking to develop an academic career in Psychiatry. Selected candidates will conduct psychological assessments, consultations, develop treatment plans and provide evidence-based individual, family and group therapy in outpatient clinic and hospital settings.
Outpatient clinical opportunities for adult, geriatric and child psychologists are available in our private practice and community clinics.
Mental Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program may be available for eligible inpatient faculty. We seek psychologists to join the Psychology Services team at UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC). Psychologists will provide individual and group psychotherapy and psychological assessments at our 250-bed, inpatient facility. Team members benefit from manageable patient volume and stable caseloads in a robust collegial atmosphere. Affiliated with Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, UTHealth HCPC is the second largest freestanding psychiatric facility in the U.S. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, which awarded UTHealth HCPC a “Top Performer in Key Quality Measures.”
