Des Moines University seeks a benefit-eligible 0.8 FTE faculty member in the Department of Behavioral Medicine, Medical Humanities, and Bioethics. Focus may be on behavioral medicine, medical humanities, or development of professional identity and professionalism in medical students. This position is responsible for teaching college or university courses for students, conducting research or other scholarly/creative endeavors, and participating in academic governance/service responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of Behavioral Medicine, Medical Humanities and Bioethics.

Qualifications for this position include but are not limited to:
· An earned doctorate (DO, MD, PhD or equivalent) from an accredited university in a relevant field to meet the responsibilities outlined above. Applicant must have legitimacy with clinicians, either via engaging in clinical work, researching clinical encounters, or engaging in closely related activities.
· Five years’ clinical practice and/or teaching experience is preferred.
· Demonstrated strong professional interest in behavioral medicine, medical humanities, and/or bioethics.
· Successful demonstration of independent scholarly activity.
