The Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse at McLean Hospital is seeking to fill the position of Director of Psychological Services at Fernside, a 30-day residential recovery program. In close collaboration with the McLean Fernside Director, and as a member of the leadership team, the Director of Psychological Services will develop and supervise McLean Fernside’s empirically supported psychosocial treatment program. Responsibilities include providing general oversight for the integrity of the psychosocial components of therapy program including ongoing staff development/training for McLean Fernside’s empirically supported treatments (e.g. MI, CBT, DBT, ACT, etc), obtaining/maintaining clinical training affiliations with area universities, and providing clinical supervision for students associated with these affiliations. The position may also require being on call to the program.


Candidates must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program, completed an APA-accredited internship, and five years of experience. Candidates must be licensed as a Health Service Provider in Massachusetts.


Academic appointment at Harvard Medical School at either the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor will be commensurate with HMS appointment criteria for the specific rank, meeting the minimum teaching requirement, and candidate qualifications.
