Director of Diversity, Clinical Psychology

Location: New England Campus (Keene, New Hampshire)

Department: Clinical Psychology

Classification: Full-time, Salary

The Clinical Psychology Department at Antioch University New England (AUNE) invites applications at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the core faculty in our APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program, and to direct the Antioch Multicultural Center for Research and Practice.

About the Position

The successful candidate will have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology, and be licensed or license-eligible in NH. We are particularly interested in, and preference will be for, those candidates from underrepresented groups who will enhance the racial, ethnic, nationality, or cultural diversity of our program community and who will continue our tradition of actively infusing the curriculum and the clinical training of our students with educational priorities that affirm the value of diversity.

We seek a candidate with clinical, teaching, and scholarly expertise in the areas of cultural diversity and social justice. The successful candidate will also assume leadership of the Department’s Multicultural Center for Research and Practice. The Department promotes multiculturalism within a social justice orientation. The term multicultural is applied broadly to include issues of minority and marginalized status, as related to race, ethnicity, culture, nationality status, class, use of English as a second language, gender/gender identity/gender expression, sexual identity, disability, religion, spirituality, and age.

Our faculty teach doctoral courses, direct dissertations, supervise clinical practicum students, participate in doctoral advising, and engage in scholarship. Core faculty are expected to demonstrate achievement in the areas of teaching, student engagement, scholarly activity, and service, including administrative functions within the department and university. We seek candidates with the vision and potential to become future program leaders. This is a full-time, benefitted, 12-month position with academic rank and paid vacation. Opportunities for up to one day per week of professional practice are also available.

About the Department, Campus, and University

AUNE’s PsyD program has been accredited by APA since 1986. We follow (indeed, were instrumental in developing) the Practitioner-Scholar model of training as described by the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology. The Clinical Psychology department includes three training and service centers: the Psychological Services Center, Center for Behavioral Health Innovation, and the Antioch Multicultural Center for Research and Practice. Our graduates fulfill multiple professional roles as reflective practitioners, integrating our core program values of relationship, evidence-based practice, and social justice and diversity.
