This position represents an exciting opportunity to play a critical hands-on role in supporting QSAC’s Clinical Residential Programs!


Position Summary: The Clinical Director oversees and provides support to the Clinical Department, including: planning, communications, research, and assisting in training clinical staff in QSAC’s Residential group homes in Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Long Island. The Clinical Director works closely with the Residential Directors, Nursing Director and in support of QSAC’s missions and goals; sets priorities and timelines for projects; provides high-level analytical and writing skills to support the functions of the department; designs; implements and supervises interventions for individuals on the autism spectrum. Ongoing coordination, training, and analysis of behavior support plans.


Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Clinical Director oversees the management of behavioral services across all residential programs; Manages and supervises the Assistant Clinical Director and provides supervision to the Clinical team


Clinical Intervention, Assessment & Analysis

  • Coordinate and oversee collection and analysis of behavioral data
  • Design, conduct and supervise behavioral interventions for individuals that engage in challenging behaviors
  • Conduct various types of intervention studies, analyze various types of data, and develop useful reports to support effective decision-making
  • Develop and supervise programs for adults with an autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and comorbid psychiatric diagnoses
  • Complete psychological assessments, behavior support plans, progress notes and psychiatric management summary
  • Participate in clinical aspects of the admissions and discharge process including but not limited to screenings, assessment, and in the development of new programs/services, proposals


Train & Coach

  • Develop and supervise training programs for staff development to appropriately work with individuals living in residences operated by QSAC
  • Train and supervise Behavioral Intervention Specialists (BIS) in the completion of functional behavioral analysis
  • Develop and deliver oral presentations for both internal and external groups
  • Attend workshops, seminars, committee meetings, regional and national conferences, and organizations


Administrative

  • Develops timelines, goals for individual behavior plans
  • Provide ongoing review of best clinical practices and propose changes to maximize effectiveness
  • Support management initiatives and presentations by contributing to staff meetings and training sessions


Education and Work Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral or Social Sciences or Psychology required
  • 5 years of experience working in behavioral health residential services for people with ID/DD or autism
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills required
  • Experience with nonprofit services, compliance and OPWDD regulations
  • Strong clinical/diagnostic skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google applications
  • Willingness to travel within QSAC locations
  • NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel to other agency locations as required
  • Deep commitment to the QSAC mission
