POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Clinical and Behavioral Health Services is responsible for the overall leadership development and management of psychological social work and ancillary therapies provided to patients within both the inpatient and outpatient services. The Director provides administrative and clinical supervision directly or through appropriately licensed others to the professional staff within the department. The incumbent will assure the staff receives appropriate training and resources in order to facilitate best practice and evidenced-based treatment. The incumbent assures the development of departmental budgets for assigned areas that meet the goals developed by senior management including operating revenue and expense capital and staffing budgets. The incumbent assures that systems are in place to monitor budget variances and to adjust resource consumption as needed. This position serves as an important organizational link between Kahi Mohala and referral sources and ensures ethical and regulatory compliance for all aspects of the service line. The incumbent assures that effective quality improvement activities are in place in their areas of responsibility to continuously improve the quality of care provided to patients and their families. Responsible for compliance to all related state federal and Joint Commission regulations in collaboration with the COO and other hospital leaders. On an as needed basis provides direct patient care. Other duties may be required or assigned. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSThe Director of Clinical and Behavioral Health Services reports directly to the COO. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education: Master's degree in Social Work / Psychology / MHA or related field required Licensure and Certifications Required Upon Hire: Licensed Clinical Social Worker PsyD or PhD Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Ability to become CPI trained within 30 days Experience: At least 5-10 years of experience in the behavioral health field inclusive of at least 5 years in an inpatient facility A minimum of 3 years of management experience required Experience in providing project management in multiple facilities or programs simultaneously required Demonstrated leadership ability in the areas of initiating program assessment and implementing quality program evidence based treatment and quality management programs required Knowledge: Ability to work with a wide range of psychiatric treatment issues. Must be able to work in collaboration and interface with interdisciplinary teams. Must possess and maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider. Physical Requirements: Must meet the basic health requirements of Kahi Mohala's physical examination including TB skin test or chest x-ray. Frequent sitting for long periods and walking throughout the campus. Work requires visual acuity to verify accuracy of written material. This position hires disciplines promotes and transfers subordinate personnel conducts periodic performance reviews. This position approves all operational expense within the assigned department oversees the development of departmental policies and procedures and delegates implementation. This position requires this patient health information in order to perform the functions outlined as part of this position description. Outside the hospital the incumbent maintains ongoing communications and working relationships with colleagues and may represent Kahi Mohala at a wide variety of community functions.
