The School of Psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking to fill the following positions: School Director (Department Chair), School of Psychology, beginning July, 2020 and three Assistant Professor positions (one in Clinical Psychology and two in School Psychology), beginning August 2020. The School of Psychology has approximately 600 undergraduate majors and 125 graduate students across three APA-accredited doctoral programs (Counseling, Clinical, & School), an MPCAC Counseling Psychology Masters program, and a Brain and Behavior doctoral program. Applicants for the School Director position should meet expectations for tenure and promotion to Full Professor at or within two years of hiring, possess research and external funding experience, and demonstrate strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills as well as administrative experience. The Clinical Psychology doctoral program offers generalist training with child and adult concentrations and emphasizes research mentorship, diversity, and clinical training in evidence-based practices. The area of specialization is open. The School Psychology program is NASP-approved and has a BACB-approved course sequence. Research and applied interests are open but should be consistent with a behavioral school psychology approach. Faculty applicants should demonstrate strong scholarship potential and excellent supervisory and teaching skills.
