Yeshiva University invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Dean of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, now celebrating its 61st anniversary. Reporting to the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will assume leadership at a significant time in the School's development and, therefore, must be a visionary leader who can inspire both internal and external constituencies. The next Dean will build on Ferkauf's distinctive strengths and lead the School into its next phase of growth and development.
Co-located with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine on the Resnick Campus in the Bronx, New York, Ferkauf is a diverse, secular, co-educational school distinctive for its dual and equal commitment to research and clinical practice. Ferkauf faculty are active in scholarship, grant funded, and committed to students with whom they engage in classes, as well as through clinical supervision, mentoring and research. The School has the distinction of having three APA-accredited doctoral programs offering the following degrees: Clinical Psychology PsyD, Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology PsyD, and Clinical Psychology, Health Emphasis PhD. All programs have received the maximum seven-year accreditation from APA. Ferkauf also offers a Masters in Mental Health Counseling, one of the first such programs in New York State. Furthermore, Ferkauf houses and operates the Max and Celia Parnes Family Psychological and Psychoeducational Services Clinic, which provides state of the art mental health services to children, adolescents and adults from our community as well as supervised clinical training and research opportunities for our students.
The Dean is the principal academic and administrative officer for Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. The successful candidate will possess a record of distinguished scholarship including grant funding, mentorship, teaching, and academic leadership, such as program director, department chair, or higher. The Dean should be licensed as a clinical psychologist and have a firm grasp on the emerging challenges to psychology as a discipline that provides clinical, psychoeducational, and health services to diverse communities. The Dean will be responsible to support and enhance the current academic programs at Ferkauf and develop new programs and opportunities aligned to workforce demands.
