Core Faculty - Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Antioch University New England


Status: Full-time, preferred start Fall 2019

Antioch University New England (AUNE) invites applications for a full-time Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) faculty member to join our progressive team in our dual-delivery model program.

The CMHC Program is a CACREP-accredited program that is part of the Department of Applied Psychology in Keene, NH. This department also offers master’s degree programs in Dance Movement Therapy and Counseling (DMT), and Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), as well as a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy.

The CMHC program at AUNE is committed to experiential learning, social justice, extensive clinical training, scholarship, and the use of creative, progressive and applied approaches. AUNE has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout New England, and the country, who serve as many of our field supervisors and employers.

The CMHC program is offered in two platforms – one that is predominantly a hybrid weekend platform for regionally located students, and one that is a low residency platform with online course work and a minimum of two required intensive residency experiences in Fall and Spring semesters.

Position Overview

The position has responsibilities that include:

· teaching 18 credits per academic year along with expectations in scholarship, service, and institutional citizenship

· participating in regularly scheduled department and program meetings

· attending both residencies; a residency stipend will be provided

Additional Summer teaching is available.

Educational and Experiential Requirements and Qualifications

An earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision (CACREP-accredited program preferred), professional counselor credentials (e.g., NCC or state licensure), at least two years of professional clinical experience, and graduate teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

· expertise in online pedagogy specific to clinical training programs

· knowledge of CACREP Standards and program evaluation

· commitment to social justice and advocacy underpinned by the American Counseling Association’s (2015) Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies

· regionally located to the Keene, NH campus and available for weekend hybrid classes
