Cornerstones of Maine is a small private-pay therapeutic program with two residences in southern Maine. We address the current need for therapeutic services for young adults (ages 18-28), who are struggling with mental health issues that are obstacles to their ability to live independently. Our typical resident presents with anxiety, depression, and executive functioning impairments along with struggles with motivation and goal directed behavior. We provide a suite of services including intensive therapy, life skills coaching, educational support, and wellness activities. Please reference our website for further information about our program. www.cornerstonesofmaine.com
Cornerstones of Maine is a small start-up owned by two licensed psychologists. We have a fundamental commitment to supporting our staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent services to our residents, while also creating a staff culture that is reflective of the environment we are setting in the home.
Intensive therapeutic work is the foundation of the Cornerstones' program and the Clinical Psychotherapist is the heart of the Cornerstones' team. Clinicians work directly with our residents from intake to discharge, providing individual, group, and family therapy. Clinicians carry manageable caseloads and work with our treatment team to aid our residents to work through the obstacles that have prevented them from being able to live and function as successful independent adults.
We are committed to providing exceptional therapeutic services and to this end, our clinicians participate in supervision, case conferences, and on-going trainings. In the last year, our clinicians have participated in trainings in Mentalization Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Transference Focused Psychotherapy. This is an exciting position that incorporates interesting clinical work and opportunities for study of varied clinical techniques. This work will occur inside and outside of our program houses and we sometimes utilize an experiential therapy model that puts our clinical work in the context of activities.
We are currently seeking exceptional clinicians with minimum 10 years of direct clinical experience working in mental health settings with adolescents and/or young adults. We are looking for advanced clinicians with a strong understanding of clinical work that includes experience and familiarity with varied theoretical interventions.
