The Department of Psychology at The New School for Social Research seeks a licensed Clinical Psychologist (NY eligible) to serve as an Assistant Professor (on a Renewable Term Appointment) and as the Director and primary training supervisor for The Safran Center for Psychological Services, our university-housed training and research clinic.
Our Faculty Director will teach five clinically-oriented PhD courses (each one semester long) and manage day-to-day operations of the clinic in consultation with the other Clinical Psychology faculty. The Director’s primary duties include (but are not limited to) student clinician supervision; recruitment of clinical supervisors; supervision of clinical supervisors; oversight of Center-based research as the Center’s principal investigator; and mentorship of PhD students as they prepare for internship and research. The position works closely with the Director of Clinical Training, the Clinical Psychology Co-Chair and the full clinical faculty to ensure the smooth operation of The Safran Center and to help shape broader clinical student programming.
