The University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) seeks to fill a part-time clinical position on its Student Counseling Service (SCS) at our Worcester, MA campus. Hours for this position are flexible. Availability for some evening and/or weekend hours is strongly preferred.
SCS provides evidence-based assessment, psychotherapy, and medication management to students of UMMS, including medical students, graduate students, and nursing students. This student population is socioeconomically and ethnically diverse, with a wide range of therapeutic needs. SCS is a team of Board-certified psychiatrists and licensed clinical and health psychologists with specialty training, who work together in a team model and meet weekly for case conference.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D./Psy.D., specialized training and experience in evidence-based psychotherapy models such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in Massachusetts. Clinical psychologists with significant experience in these treatment models, and who are prepared to supervise trainees, are preferred.
There is a possibility of faculty appointment for the applicant who is interested in participating in scholarly activity as a member of the Department of Psychiatry. In addition, there may be options to increase up to full time as other opportunities in Psychiatry or related Departments become available.
