Summary:

The Center for Behavioral and Nutritional Health at Greenwich Hospital is seeking to employ a full-time clinical psychologist with a specialty in behavioral medicine or health psychology. The Center for Behavioral & Nutritional Health is a hospital-based, an offsite outpatient program offering psychological and nutritional services for the management of acute and chronic health conditions, including; chronic pain, neurological conditions, obesity, gastroenterological diseases, diabetes and other endocrine disorders, cardiovascular conditions, and psychological disorders. The behavioral medicine specialist will provide evidence-based and solution-focused treatments related to these and other issues, collaborating with healthcare providers to improve the health and quality of life of the individual.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning for newly referred patients
  • Provision of individual and psychotherapy
  • Collaboration with physicians and other multidisciplinary staff for direct patient care
  • Collection of outcome data related to clinical care
  • Engagement in community outreach
  • Participation in departmental meetings and activities
  • Participates in training, supervision, and consultation activities
  • Maintains charts on all clients in accordance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures


Education:

  • Doctoral Degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or health psychology from an APA approved graduate program


Experience:

  • Individuals with experience maintaining behavioral medicine or health psychology role in a medical setting; with extensive experience in rehabilitation psychology and cognitive remediation; who embrace a biopsychosocial model of understanding and treating behavior, illness and the psychological effects of illness; and are committed to program development are encouraged to apply


Licensure:

  • All candidates must be license-eligible in the State of Connecticut

  • Prolonged sitting, working on computer, being on phone, some bending, stopping, reaching, stretching and minimum lifting


Work Environment:

  • Busy atmosphere, crowded space, and significant shifting of space needs as the department grows
  • Moderate stress attending to patient issues, schedules, and communications
