The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV is seeking a 2 full-time Clinical Psychologist, one within the Primary Care/ Mental Health Integration Unit (PCMHI) housed within the Primary Care service, and the other within the Inpatient Mental Health Unit (IMHU). The ideal candidate will be licensed with 2 years’ general clinical psychology experience. Candidates who have their doctoral degree but have less than 2 years post-doctoral experience will be considered. Familiarity with the IMHU or PCMHI model within practice or training is desired.
Primary Care Mental Health Integration:
In addition to providing direct patient care to Veteran patients, the psychologist will serve as lead for the PCMHI program. In this role the individual will work closely with all team members. Oversee the day to day team operations of a staff of 2 mental health nurses, 2 social workers, and 1 psychiatrist. This position is not supervisory in nature but will include a minimum of 10% administration time to coordinate implementation efforts that ensure fidelity of the PCMHI integrated care model.
Inpatient Mental Health Unit:
In addition to providing direct patient care to Veteran patients, the psychologist has responsibility for the development, coordination, management, and clinical oversight of psychotherapeutic and recovery-oriented psychosocial programming on the inpatient unit. The position emphasizes the provision of Evidence-Based Psychotherapy (EBP) as appropriate to training and patient care needs. The psychologist may be asked to contribute to the training and supervision of clinical psychology trainees (interns, postdoctoral fellows, or practicum students). In addition to providing inpatient care the psychologist will have an outpatient panel. Inpatient to outpatient split is 75/25. The IMHU is a 10-bed acute care unit. The average daily census is 60% (4-6 people).
U.S. Citizenship, a full, active, and unrestricted U.S. license, and completion of an APA accredited doctorate degree and internship are required.
