The College of Health Solutions (CHS) at Arizona State University is seeking a full-time clinical assistant/associate professor in the Integrated Behavioral Health Programs to teach courses across undergraduate and graduate programs in topics related to integrated behavioral health such as clinical interventions, cost effectiveness of integrated behavioral health, processes related to population health and/or integrated behavioral health, quality improvement, and other related courses for CHS. This is a non-tenure track teaching fiscal (12-month) position. Faculty duties include teaching online and/or in person. Typical workloads for clinical faculty are consistent with 80% teaching (4 courses every fall and spring, and an additional 3 courses in the summer) and 20% service; however, candidates with a track record of scholarship and potential for future scholarship may be able to allocate a portion of their time towards research. Applicants must present evidence of teaching experience and a strong commitment to high quality teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. This is a fixed-term appointment that is renewable annually. Subsequent one-year appointments may be offered, under the same terms and conditions, at the discretion of the college and university.

A foundation of the Integrated Behavioral Health Program (IBH) is the use of outcomes assessments in clinical settings to evaluate achievement of the health care reform’s “Triple Aim” of improved patient experience of care, population health management, and improved cost of care. In addition, we are committed to evaluate the effectiveness of collaborative and integrated care models. The DBH degree prepares graduates to deliver integrated behavioral care treatment programs in primary care and other medical settings.

Current training programs include behavioral health, biomedical diagnostics, biomedical informatics, executive and continuing education, exercise science, health promotion, health sciences, kinesiology, medical studies, nutrition, population health, the science of health care delivery, and speech and hearing science. Our programs are offered at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix, Tempe, West and Lake Havasu campuses, as well as on Mayo Clinic’s Scottsdale campus. We maintain research facilities in cooperation with multiple community partners, including an expansion of the Phoenix Biomedical Campus that is in development through a public-private partnership that will increase collaborative opportunities with private companies and offer an additional 200,000 square feet of space for research and clinical trials.
To focus our efforts, we have identified Grand Challenges, some of the most complex and difficult health challenges facing Arizona, that we will work to solve. Each Grand Challenge is huge in scope, takes advantage of our expertise in translational research, and requires transformative collaboration and innovation. · PhD or other terminal degree (doctorate) from a regionally accredited University in field appropriate to the duties, such as: behavioral health, psychology, occupational therapy, nursing, epidemiology, public health, biomedical informatics, population health, or other health related field.
· Experience or coursework in aspects of integrated behavioral health, such as: population health, evidence-based interventions, quality improvement, or integrated primary care.
· Demonstrated ability to provide service to the program and university, as well as to the community and profession.
· 1 year of teaching experience at the college or university level or 2 years serving as a teaching assistant with full course responsibilities or applied field experience that demonstrates ability to teach.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and interdisciplinary team that includes staff, faculty, students, clinicians, and community partners.
· Knowledge and/or experience in statistical analysis of outcomes data, teaching students in research or quality improvement processes.
· Teaching experience with on-campus and/or online format
· Experience with technology such as course management systems (e.g. online delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas or similar), Knowledge and/or experience in healthcare management
· Experience as, or demonstrated ability to be, a faculty advisor and/or chair of a doctoral capstone project
· Demonstration of scholarship via publication or presentations
· 2-5 years teaching experience at the college or university level and/or 5 years experience in a healthcare field
· Accreditation, certification, licensing, or advanced training that is required for specific field of study/profession
· Expertise in developing and teaching courses online (in-person, hybrid, or online)
· An exceptional record of classroom instruction and curricular innovation
