The Clinical Psychology Program and Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin invite applications for a Director of its Psychology Training Clinic. This position is a 9-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor appointment beginning September 1, 2019, pending budgetary approval. Candidates should have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program and be license-eligible in Texas. Responsibilities include administration of the Psychology Training Clinic, supervising clinical practica in evidence-based assessment and treatment, and coordinating clinical practicum placements. In addition, interest in and experience in teaching graduate courses in assessment, evidence-based treatments, and multicultural issues would be valuable. The Clinic Director also plays an important role in enhancing students’ training with diverse clients.




Research opportunities as well as independent clinical practice are possible. The Psychology Training Clinic is a training site for the Clinical Psychology Program and serves young and older adult clients from the community. The Clinic is fully supported by the University. The University of Texas Clinical Program ranks at #8 in the latest U.S. News & World Report (2017), placing it in the top 4% of clinical programs in the US. The program endorses a clinical scientist training model, is accredited by the American Psychological Association, and is a member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science.






A Ph.D. degree in Psychology and eligibility for a clinical license in Texas are required. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) experience/expertise is required. Demonstrated teaching excellence at the college level and experience providing clinical supervision are preferred. This is a security sensitive position; a background check will be conducted on applicant selected.
