The Behavioral Healthcare Division (BHD) of Arlington County, VA Government  is seeking a dynamic and results-driven leader to serve as the Client Service Entry (CSE) Bureau Chief. BHD provides a range of services which promote recovery, independence, and community integration for adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders. These services include emergency mental health, discharge planning, medical services, therapy, case management, and linkage to other services which are provided directly by County staff or through contract at the Sequoia Plaza offices, community-based locations, the County jail, homeless shelters, and on the streets.

The Client Services Entry Bureau within BHD has primary responsibility for:

• Crisis and Emergency Services, including office-based and residential crisis stabilization

• Crisis Intervention Team in collaboration with the Arlington County Police Department

• Intake Services

• Hospital discharge planning

• Community Corrections Unit

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the BHD Division Chief, the Bureau Chief is responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and development of innovative programming designed to both respond to and prevent behavioral health emergencies. This includes expansion of community co-responder models and efforts to coordinate with community stakeholders, including justice system partners and families, while advancing engagement and diversion efforts. The Bureau Chief has authority and responsibility to manage strategic and operational planning for continuous improvement; develop resources; manage and analyze data to identify trends that impact service delivery; develop policy related to program improvement; collaborate with other managers to promote integration among the service system; and build coalitions with community stakeholders and citizen groups across Arlington County and the State.
