The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Toronto, Ontario, is inviting applications for the position of Chief, Division of Addictions. CAMH is Canada's largest academic health science center dedicated to mental health and addictions and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Addictions services at CAMH offer inpatient and outpatient services reaching each year almost 10,000 adolescents and adults with a spectrum of substance use diagnoses with or without concurrent mental disorders. The successful candidate will join a team of exceptional addiction scientists conducting research in animal and human translational neuroscience, clinical interventions, epidemiology, and health policy.
The ideal candidate will be intensely dedicated to excellence in clinical research and recruiting and educating the next generation of addiction clinicians, including psychiatrists, family physicians, other physicians, and other clinicians. He or she will have demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in complex organizations. He or she will lead a Division with significant existing resources including substantial internal and external funding and one endowed chair. The Chief will be a key member of both the clinical and academic leadership teams at CAMH, working collaboratively to ensure the successful integration of addictions research and teaching into all aspects of the organization. He or she will represent CAMH at local, provincial, and national tables on all matters related to addictions and concurrent disorders. He or she will work collaboratively with other addiction organizations in the greater Toronto region and Ontario.
The candidate should be an academic addiction psychiatrist or another physician or doctoral-level health professional with exceptional leadership skills and an extensive academic record in the field of addictions. He or she would be expected to be eligible for an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor at the University of Toronto.
