Career Opportunity in Western Suffolk County, NY: Seeking psychologist(s) interested in joining and purchasing an established forensic practice in close proximity to the Courts and Stony Brook University.
Our clinical staff consists of highly trained clinical psychologists, social workers, and competent support staff. The practice is owned by two psychologists trained in both research and practice, having collaborated for over 20 years. In addition to forensic work, the practice provides a wide range of evaluative and therapeutic services for children, adults and families. The practice is well known and respected by the Suffolk County courts, with whom we do a substantial amount of work. Our services include child abuse and parenting evaluations, custody evaluations, therapeutic visitation, and co-parenting for parents parenting their children separately, among other court directed services. In addition, we enjoy a longstanding relationship with the Department of Social Services, working extensively with foster children and their caretakers. We have developed a unique method of assessing parent-child- interactions for evaluative and therapeutic purposes. Staff members are also trained in the area of trauma and attachment disorder, providing services addressing these issues. The partners are able to provide forensic and other training to psychologist(s) desiring to buy the practice and to facilitate entrée into the Courts and Department of Social Services. To assure a smooth transition and entrance into the courts, the partners will maintain involvement in the practice for a mutually agreed upon time.
