The Department of Psychology at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track an entry-level Assistant Professor position with a specialization in Industrial/Organizational or School Psychology, to begin in August 2019. Preferences will be given to candidates with a completed PhD. A successful candidate would be able to teach Research Methods, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Tests and Measurements, and additional courses in their area of expertise.
Founded in 1925 by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, XULA is Catholic and historically Black. Located in New Orleans, the mission of the University is to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society.
Following on a long tradition of successful graduates moving on from Xavier to graduate and workforce careers, the Department of Psychology has three majors: Psychological Science, Psychology Pre-Medicine, and Neuroscience. As a historically Black university in the heart of New Orleans, these programs have a significant influence on the number of underrepresented minority group members in related fields.
