The Department of Psychology at Indiana State University (ISU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Psychology beginning in the Fall of 2019.
The position is open to candidates in any area of Psychology. Applicants may apply ABD, but must have earned their doctorate from an accredited institution prior to hire.
This position is designated to support the Psychology Department’s growing number of distance students, so most (but not all) teaching will be done online, and candidates must demonstrate strong potential for effective teaching in a distance environment; while initial assignments will be primarily undergraduate, there may be potential for graduate teaching in the future. The specified teaching load is 12-semester hours, but reassigned time for scholarly activities is typical. Whereas this is a tenure-track appointment, the successful candidate will also be expected to maintain an active and productive program of research (preferably one that engages our students) as well as to contribute to departmental and extra-departmental service activities. More information about the department and our programs can be found at www.indstate.edu/psychology.
Applicants must apply online at http://jobs.indstate.edu/postings/24783 and submit a cover letter, along with statements of their teaching and research interests, documentation of teaching effectiveness, vitae, graduate transcripts, representative publications, and at least three letters of recommendation. For full consideration, applications should be received by December 1, 2018, though they will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. Inquiries about the position can be directed to Dr. Veanne Anderson at Veanne.Anderson@indstate.edu.
