The Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a term (non-tenure track) position. This nine-month position is at the rank of Assistant Professor. The expected appointment date is August 16, 2020.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will be required to have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical (or Counseling) Psychology program and be licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Demonstrated experience working in and with a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required.
The successful candidate must have teaching experience. Teaching responsibilities will include supervision of clinical psychology doctoral students in the clinical child/adolescent psychology concentration in the fall and spring semesters. In addition, the candidate will teach two undergraduate courses in the fall and spring semesters for a total of six courses across the academic year. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with courses including but not limited to: Abnormal Psychology and Clinical Skills/Helping Relationships. The faculty member will be expected to teach each semester and participate in service equivalent to about 20% time. There is no required research time for the position.
