TENURE-TRACK CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY PH.D. PROGRAM POSITION
The School of Graduate Psychology (SGP) at Pacific University in Oregon invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology to begin August 15, 2020. Expertise in developmental psychopathology with an emphasis on child and adult treatment and intervention is preferred; however, applicants specializing in other areas of clinical psychology are encouraged to apply. Applicants with additional expertise and/or experience in teaching Cultural Diversity will be prioritized. The position requires a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program (by start date), evidence of potential to establish a program of research, demonstrated teaching excellence, ability to secure extramural funding, and a clear commitment to cultural diversity. Responsibilities include teaching (equivalent of 4 courses per 9-month academic year), maintaining an active research program, mentoring Ph.D. student research, and service to the program, school, college, and university.
The Ph.D. Program admitted its first student cohort in fall, 2013, and graduated its first student in 2017. The program, now accredited on contingency by the American Psychological Association, adheres to a scientist-practitioner philosophy of training students to conduct psychological science and incorporate science-based knowledge into clinical practice.
SGP is housed within the College of Health Professions at Pacific University. There are excellent opportunities for hospital affiliations within the Portland-metro area.
