The Psychology Department at the University of South Alabama invites applications for a full-time (9 month), tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 15, 2019. The position requires a PhD in a basic research area of Psychology with area of specialization open (e.g., cognitive, developmental, physiological, social/personality, etc.). ABD candidates will be considered, but an earned PhD is expected at the time of the appointment. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, maintaining an active research program, mentoring graduate students through the master’s degree program focused on Behavior and Brain Sciences (BBS), and providing service to the Psychology Department, College, and University.
The successful candidate will be a member of the BBS graduate (M.S.) program, which currently consists of seven faculty members who represent the sub-disciplines of behavior-genetics, biological psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, physiological psychology, social-personality psychology, and teaching psychology. The BBS program is collegial and supportive and fosters creativity and collaboration among its faculty and students. We seek a colleague who will contribute to this positive communal environment.
