Assistant Professor of Psychology - Quantitative Health


The Department of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Quantitative and Health Psychology in our Behavioral Science track. Expertise that complements existing strengths could include quantitative modeling, psychometrics, big data methods, mixture/cluster/latent class analysis, and/or open science and reproducibility, among other areas. The position will be an academic year appointment with an expected start date of July 2019. The Department is located within the recently formed College of Health Sciences, which is part of the University’s Academic Health Collaborative along with the Colleges of Pharmacy and Nursing, and the Institute for Integrated Health and Innovation. The Psychology Department is recognized for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service and for our commitment to diversity. Our Department has 800 undergraduates, 100 graduate students, and 27 faculty, with doctoral tracks in Behavioral Science, and APA-accredited Clinical Psychology, and School Psychology. The successful candidate is expected to teach quantitative courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, publish relevant research in quantitative and health-related areas, secure external funding that will support productive research, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and provide service to the campus and non-campus communities. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with diverse populations, and who have a strong commitment to multiculturalism and diversity.
