APPOINTMENT: August 15, 2019
RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time, tenure-track faculty appointment. The courses taught by this faculty member would be core undergraduate and graduate courses in quantitative and research methods. Undergraduate courses to be taught would be: Statistical Methods and Design, and Research Methodology. Equivalent courses at the master's/specialist level would be: Advanced Psychological Statistics for experimental psychology students, and Research Methods in Applied Settings for clinical and school psychology students. The successful candidate would have additional opportunities to teach courses in one's area of concentration and graduate research seminars. In addition to the formal coursework, the prospective hire would be involved in out-of-classroom education, such as graduate and undergraduate honors, theses, independent readings/research, and senior capstone projects. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a research program and to contribute to service at the department, college, and university levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: a PhD in psychology or related field, with background in advanced statistical methods is required. Strong potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service should be evident.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate and graduate teaching experience. Evidence of research activities in the form of authored, peer-reviewed journal publications, professional conference presentations, or other scholarly activities. Research background or interests that complement those of other psychology faculty, such as forensic/legal psychology, cognition, learning, and/or memory.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.
THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Psychology has 25 faculty, approximately 330 undergraduate majors, 500 minors, and 50 graduate students in Masters Programs (General Experimental and Clinical/Community Mental Health) and a Specialists program (School). The department includes a Psychology undergraduate major with two Options (Psychology, Forensic Psychology) as well as minors in Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Aging Studies, and Neuroscience. WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 7,235): A traditional, residential four-year campus with select graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).
WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,267): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan campus in Moline, IL.
